Flying Squirrel South Calgary vs KidzGo: which indoor park is better for your family?

South Calgary has no shortage of places to let kids run wild indoors. Two of the biggest names are Flying Squirrel South Calgary and KidzGo Indoor Playground. Both promise big fun, tired kids, and a break for your furniture—but they offer pretty different experiences once you look closely.
Here’s a parent-friendly comparison of attractions, pricing, safety, and birthday parties to help you choose.
Attractions: trampolines and air time vs. jungle gym and racetrack
KidzGo is built around the classic indoor playground vibe. You’ll find:
- A giant jungle gym with climbing, tunnels, and platforms
- Big slides and inflatable play areas
- A kids’ race track / “safe car track”
- Giant building blocks and soft play
- Arcade zone and redemption prizes
- A cafeteria with plenty of food and coffee options
It’s a great fit for younger kids who love to climb, slide, and zip around in toy cars, with lots of spots for parents to sit nearby.
Flying Squirrel South Calgary is a full trampoline and adventure park. Attractions include:
- Massive freestyle trampoline courts
- Dodgeball courts and dunk hoops
- Foam pits and stunt jump airbags
- Rope swings, slacklines, and battlebeam-style challenges
- Dedicated kiddie court and child-friendly zones
- Arcade area and the Drey Café for snacks and meals
If your kids want to jump higher, race harder, and try bigger challenges, Flying Squirrel offers more variety in the air-and-action department, while still keeping a space for the littles.
Pricing: unlimited play vs. structured sessions
KidzGo keeps things straightforward with per-child admission and unlimited playtime for each visit. Current rates are:
- Monday–Thursday: $9.45 for ages 1–3, $13.75 for ages 4–13
- Friday–Sunday/holidays: $14.75 for ages 1–3, $16.75 for ages 4–13
- Adults and kids under 12 months are free
If you go often, you can grab a 10-pass at a discount (valid Monday–Thursday): $61.50 for ages 1–3 and $85.65 for ages 4–13.
For families who like to settle in for a few hours while kids come and go from the climber, it’s a solid, good-value setup.
Flying Squirrel South Calgary uses time-based jump sessions:
- 60 minutes: $23
- 90 minutes: $30
- 120 minutes: $40
- Toddler (6 and under): $14 / $19 / $25 for 60 / 90 / 120 minutes
You’re paying for a defined block of intense, full-body activity. There are also 10-hour toddler and family passes that bring the hourly cost down if you visit regularly, and discounts for groups like military and first responders.
If your goal is “burn as much energy as possible in 60–120 minutes and go home,” Flying Squirrel tends to deliver more movement per minute. If you prefer a slower, all-afternoon kind of outing with younger kids, KidzGo’s flat admission model works well.
Safety: engineered trampoline tech vs general playground safety
Both venues care about creating a safe place to play, but Flying Squirrel makes safety a central part of how the park is built and run.
Across Flying Squirrel parks (including South Calgary), you’ll find:
- The Shock Trampoline Park System, using patented German gas shock absorbers and shock-absorbing suspension mounts built right into the trampoline framework to soften landings on pads and reduce impact
- Safety padding and spring covers between every trampoline bed, so kids aren’t hitting exposed springs or steel
- Padded posts and no-climb netting to separate attractions and keep kids where they’re meant to be
- Clearly posted safety signage and a safety video, plus
- Floor staff (“Flight Crew”) positioned throughout the park to enforce rules, watch jumpers, and assist if something goes wrong
On top of that, there are scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual inspections and regular cleaning and disinfection of mats, pads, foam pits, and air bags.
KidzGo emphasises a “safe, fun-filled environment” with a kid-friendly layout, a locked entrance gate, and staff on site, but the public information focuses more on atmosphere than on detailed safety engineering.
If you’re a parent who feels better seeing visible safety systems and staff dedicated to supervising active play, Flying Squirrel South Calgary has a clear advantage—especially once kids start jumping higher, flipping into foam, and trying more adventurous moves.
Birthday parties: trampolines and neon lights vs unlimited play and arcade credits
KidzGo’s birthday packages are clearly laid out and easy to work with. Current Basic Party Packages start at $279.95 + GST for 5 kids (including the birthday kid) and include::
- Unlimited playground time before and after your 90-minute private room slot
- 20 arcade credits per child and 100 arcade credits for the birthday child
- An individual meal for each child (pizza, hot dog with fries, or chicken teriyaki rice)
- Drinks (juice or fountain jugs), shared fries, and full party setup and cleanup
You can upgrade any Basic package to Gold or Platinum for more attendees, arcade credits, party platters, popcorn, coffee for adults, and extra perks for the birthday child, or add on extras as needed.
It all adds up to a very “classic playground party” experience: kids climb, slide, and play for hours, then regroup in a decorated room for food, cake, and presents while the KidzGo staff handle the rest.
Flying Squirrel South Calgary’s Bounce and Soar party package looks a bit different:
- $300 Monday–Thursday, $400 Friday–Sunday/holidays
- 10 guests included (up to 22 with additional fees)
- 2.5 hours total party time, including 2 hours of jump time
- 2 large pizzas and bottled water
- Reserved party table, custom birthday sign
- Birthday crown, Flying Squirrel water bottle, and a free one-hour future jump pass for the guest of honour
- Assigned host to handle check-in, timing, food, and clean-up
- Option to schedule during Neon Lights on Friday or Saturday nights at no extra charge for a glow-in-the-dark party vibe
The entry-level package is priced in the same ballpark at both places (around $300), but there’s a big difference in what you get: at Flying Squirrel, that price covers 10 kids, while at KidzGo it only covers 5. In other words, you’re getting roughly twice the guest list for about the same cost at Flying Squirrel.
So…which one should you choose?
Both Flying Squirrel South Calgary and KidzGo offer a welcome escape on cold or rainy days, and both can absolutely deliver happy, tired kids.
KidzGo is a great choice if:
- Your kids are mostly between 1–7 and love climbers, slides, and ride-on cars
- You want unlimited playtime for a single flat admission
- You’re looking for a more relaxed play-place vibe with a strong focus on younger children
Flying Squirrel South Calgary is the better fit if:
- You’ve got a mix of ages, including big kids (and maybe adults) who want real action
- You care a lot about safety structure, supervised play, and purpose-built trampoline tech
- You want clear, time-based pricing and high-value party packages
- Your goal is to burn off serious energy in an hour or two and then head home
- You’re looking for an excellent value party package for a bigger group
In the end, the “best” choice comes down to your kids’ ages and how your family likes to play. But if you’re looking for maximum movement, strong safety features, and parties that feel like a full-on celebration, Flying Squirrel South Calgary has the edge—and a pretty good track record of delivering that quiet, content car ride home.
