Whitby’s fun world: A trampoline park where kids rule

One dreary Sunday in November, my kids needed something to cheer them up. They’d each had a tough week in their own way, and when a big plate of nachos and a nature walk didn’t do the trick, I knew they needed something special and fun to get their mind off things. Enter, their version of funworld: Flying Squirrel trampoline park in Whitby. At this amazing play space, it’s like kids all got together and hatched a plan to create a space that was just for them. Their own club fort where fun is at the forefront. It was just what they needed and they all came away tired, sweaty and with huge smiles on their faces. 

What makes Flying Squirrel a kids’ dream fun world

Imagine you are seven-years-old and you walk into a massive play space. Everywhere you look there is something to do:

• Wall-to-wall trampolines for bouncing, playing and letting loose.
• Aerial silks for floating through the air (with a giant foam pit to land in below)
• A massive indoor rock climbing “beanstalk” where you can play pretend while also getting some very cool rock climbing in. 
• A battle beam to challenge your friends or siblings to a battle with big gladiator-style foam sticks.

As parents, we know that kids’ activities are only fun for us if our needs have been considered too. Thank goodness for outings that cater to us. Flying Squirrel has us covered thanks to:

• Safety experts on the floor to ensure our kiddos stay safe and follow the rules
• An entire snack bar (with coffee!) to make sure we are caffeinated and well-fed
• Cozy seating placed strategically around the room for optimal funworld lines of sight
• A whole area dedicated to toddlers so our littlest kids can stay entertained and feel like “big kids”
• Also, some big-kid focused activities so our older kids stay happy and entertained
• And, for those parents that want to join in the fun—you can! Everything is accessible to adults too. So if you like jumping, playing and rock climbing, get ready for some family bonding.

At Flying Squirrel fun centre in Whitby, the birthday party fun is endless—but the cleanup? Not your problem. Kids will jump, run, climb and snack for hours. And when they’re done? The staff handles the cleanup. All you have to do is show up, enjoy the party, and leave the mess behind. Because when kids party, they party hard (and you deserve a break).
