Why Flying Squirrel Chatham Tops the List of Indoor Play Places

April 2025
I have three kids. Three very loud, very energetic, very easily bored kids. So, when a rainy weekend hits, or the temperature rises or drops to “no thank you” levels, I become a professional Googler of indoor play places. And let me tell you, I’ve tried them all.
We’ve wandered the aisles at toy stores pretending we’re “just looking.” We’ve visited the library—always a hit, but let’s be honest, a bit of a gamble when your kids think whispering means shouting at 80% volume and emptying the entire graphic novel section into their backpackages. We’ve hit up museums, which are fun and educational, but once you’ve seen the dinosaur skeleton enough times to memorize the exact wording on the placard, it loses a bit of sparkle.
We’ve tried the indoor swimming route, which would be great if not for the 47-minute ordeal of wrangling soggy children back into dry clothes while shivering in the freezing changeroom.
So yeah, we’ve done the circuit of indoor options. And while there are some solid choices out there, nothing—and I mean nothing—has captivated my kids (and saved my sanity) quite like Flying Squirrel.
Flying Squirrel: Not Your Average Indoor Play Place in Chatham
Let me paint a picture: We walk into Flying Squirrel and instantly, my kids scatter like joyful little electrons. It’s bright, it’s buzzing, and it feels like the entire space was engineered by someone who truly understands what kids love and what parents need.
There’s a reason this place keeps popping up at the top of every “best indoor play places in Chatham” list (and if it’s not on a list, then someone needs to update that list immediately because it’s clearly outdated).
My youngest makes a beeline for the soft playground. It’s a padded, climbing, sliding, bouncing paradise that somehow lets her test the limits of her fearlessness while also being parent-approved in terms of safety. I’ve never seen her so confident—and I’ve never been so relaxed watching her play.
My middle child embraces the wall-to-wall trampolines and basically turns into a human rocket. He bounces. He flips (sort of). He catapults himself into foam pits like he is starring in his own action movie. And my oldest? He and a few other kids race on the clip-in climbing walls.
Even the Grownups Get to Play
Now here’s the part I wasn’t expecting: Flying Squirrel isn’t just for kids.
After watching the fun for a while, I found myself on the battlebeam—an elevated jousting platform that sits above a sea of foam blocks. Was I the oldest person up there? Yes. Did I laugh so hard I forgot I was sore from yesterday’s deadlifting? Also yes.
And don’t even get me started on the arcade. My partner and I actually got a little competitive over air hockey. There’s something about the hum of the machine and the shared joy that brings out your inner child—and makes for a surprisingly great family date.
Why It Tops the List of Indoor Play Places
Look, there are a lot of indoor play places around Chatham where kids can burn off energy. But Flying Squirrel isn’t just about burning energy—it’s about having fun together. It’s the only place I’ve found that entertains all three of my kids (who never agree on anything), gives me a break without guilt, and throws in a bit of fun for the grownups too.
It’s clean. It’s safe. It’s exciting without being overwhelming. And most importantly, it’s the kind of place where your whole family can make memories—without leaving covered in mud or nursing mystery bruises.
Make It Your Go-To Indoor Adventure
If you’re hunting for the best indoor play places in Chatham, start (and honestly, probably end) with Flying Squirrel. It’s where fun meets freedom, and where parents finally get a chance to relax while the kids have the time of their lives.
Whether you’re escaping the weather, celebrating a birthday, or just need to get out of the house before everyone loses their minds, Flying Squirrel Chatham has your back. And your bounce. And your soft foam landing.
