6 Fun Things for Adults to Do in Chatham This Weekend

April 2025
Weekends are for chores, rest and resetting for the week ahead—but they should also be about having fun and exploring new places, near or far. Whether you live in Chatham or are in the mood for a little road trip, you’ll love these experiences for adults.
Trust us, you’ll want to kick off your weekend at this special spot. Take your pick of the espresso drinks and other speciality drinks on offer (we’re partial to the lattes) and have a satisfying sip to start your day. Their breakfast options, like the Lemon Blueberry Overnight oats, are not only healthy and delicious, but give off some serious spring vibes that we appreciate after a long winter. Hot tip: They also have great sandwiches and treats, so you could visit any time of day, but obviously starting your day here is a great way to guarantee a good mood. There’s also a good reason to start your Saturday here: They’re closed on Sundays.
After filling your belly with delicious food and, more importantly, getting caffeinated, it’s time to go see something beautiful. From pottery classes for adults to PA day painting for kids, Thames Art Gallery caters to everyone who is interested in getting creative, or those simply wanting to wander and enjoy the artful views. Bonus: It’s open every weekend and admission is always FREE!
There’s nothing like fresh air and nature to experience wonder and awe, which is exactly what weekends are for. This little pocket of tranquility is the perfect place for a quick loop, some forest bathing, a dog walk or exploring with kids. A large field at its entrance is great for throwing a ball around. This one is an easy “yes” for a fun weekend outing.
Not only is the Chatham-Kent Museum informative and fun for adults, it also has an entire floor dedicated to your youngest family members. The Imagination Station is an interactive, totally hands-on, innovative, and creative space located on the second floor of the museum.
The themes and exhibits at the museum often change to keep the information fresh and compelling. And the staff are incredibly dedicated, informative and helpful.
Another nice feature is that the museum offers a “pay by donation” model, so people can pay what they can and still have access to all the incredible offerings! When the museum says it is fun for all ages, they really mean it.
The Capitol Theatre is a large, bright, clean space that hosts everything from wine tasting nights and concerts to cozy movie nights. Both big names and local entertainment perform here. There’s a wide variety of seating—from balcony to floor. The workers are all friendly and ready to help and it has a real feeling of community participation. A night out here is a night well spent.
Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park
For kids and kids-at-heart, Chatham-Kent’s Flying Squirrel trampoline park is such a fun space to spend the day (or evening, if pumping music and neon lights are your thing). Whether you battle a friend on the battle beam, swing from the trapeze, or jump until your heart is pumping, you’ll leave Flying Squirrel feeling like you got both a good workout, and some great socializing time. This is also a great date night with your partner, or team-building exercise to do with your co-workers. Whatever you’re looking for in a fun evening, you can find it here.
